Take care of your car, it will take care of you…. today, a car is a necessity rather than a social status symbol. There is a popular saying that goes ‘If you want to know how a man treats his wife, look at his car’. Well, this might be true in some cases but the main thing here is that a car is useful and should be well maintained to last longer. New cars also need a lot of care if they are to keep their shiny look and functionality. Here are a few tips to assist you in taking care of your new car.
Give It A Bath
It is highly important that you wash your car regularly especially if you travel a lot. Some of the dirt might stick on the exterior and interior and cause serious problems. Though your car needs a bath, you also need to keep in mind that washes are the main causes of swirl marks on cars. This does not mean that you should not wash it. It only means that you will have to invest in high quality shampoo specifically made for washing cars. You will also need a special drying towel aimed at cleaning without causing any damages. Use two buckets of water one with the soap solution and the other one with clean water to rinse the car.
The best way to maintain the brand and grand “newness” of your car is to protect it from the harsh conditions of the environment. You can also use paint sealant or paint protection products. Most new cars have a clear coating that makes it glow with newness and this makes most car owners believe that this coating will last long and protect the paint job. The clear shiny coat just adds the shine and improves the appearance of the color and is in no way a protection coat which is why you will still need to wax it once in a while.
Check Your Car
Although we know that new cars will have lesser problems as compared to older vehicles, it is still important to check your car just in case there are some hidden problems. Check your oil before you drive off, check your tire pressure and ensure that the tires are properly inflated. Ensure that all your lights are working including the brake lights and the reverse lights. It is important that you check all major parts of the car to make sure that they are working right.
As aforementioned, new vehicles are less likely to have any problems but it is never a bad thing to be too careful. One small problem can give rise to many other major issues that might render your new vehicle useless. To be on the safe side it is important that you take your vehicle to a professional mechanic, not because it has broken down, but just to have a professional hand ensure it is okay. This will prevent any issues that might crop up without your knowledge.
