Looking at the roads of Africa, you will notice that there are more of Japanese and Chinese vehicles and less of brands from other states. Well, there are many reasons behind this but the main one is the fact that these two countries have vehicle manufactures that are after the hearts of African car lovers. The brands from China and Japan have made a mark quite difficult to override because they have managed to use factors attractive to African car buyers to beat competitors from other countries hands down.
The price tag
Price is always the elephant in the room when one is purchasing a car, then all the other qualities come thereafter. If there is one aspect of the automotive industry that remains a main challenge to people interested in owning vehicles in Africa, it must be the price. Fortunately, Chinese and Japanese vehicle manufacturers have made it a point to offer the people of the African continent what their wallets can let them own. So far this has been successful, and it is easy to tell especially when you look at the vehicle brands on the African roads.
A lot of people are working so hard to own a vehicle and the Chinese and Japanese manufacturers have made this possible by producing affordable automobiles. There are many models that are being produced with the African market in mind and this has helped a great deal in making easy vehicle ownership such a livable dream. This has been boosted by the fact that there are thousands of secondhand cars from China and Japan. These vehicles have bridged the gap between people who can afford the expensive vehicles and those with humble pockets.
Most of the times, people purchase vehicles and forget the important part of maintenance. The purchase cost is always nothing compared to what you will spend maintaining the vehicle. The reason why the vehicles from China and Japan are receiving a warm welcome in Africa can partly be because of spare part availability. No one wants to purchase a vehicle that will be a headache once a part breaks or wears out. The manufactures from these two countries have made sure that the African market is full of relevant spare parts and thus saving owners the trouble and expenses associated with searching for difficult to find parts.
Most African Governments are in Agreement with the Chinese and Japanese Governments in terms of vehicular importation. With the processes eased up and related importation charges lowered, the trade between Japan, China and Africa is significantly made possible all for the good of the people of Africa. Some states have zero-rated the tax associated with spare parts which has created a level playing field in Africa for car manufactures in Japan and China.
All in all, vehicles from China and Japan are bound to be the long lasting solution to the dire need for vehicles in Africa. This is evident in the price on the vehicles and the ease with which people can acquire spare parts and import vehicles from these two countries.
